Heaven's Arena, Two Continents North of Yorknew City

"You know, the floor of the blimp wasn't that bad a place to sleep," Ringo announced. And then immediately belied her claim by grimacing as she stretched to pop her back again.

Once she was feeling a little bit loosened up again, Ringo looked around. "Too bad we don't really have time to really explore the city. I mean, this place looks like it's got as much neat stuff going on as Yorknew City did." But their wallets were pretty much empty, and Ringo really wanted a room and a bed to sleep in tonight.

Ringo's eyes swept the city skyline, then went wide. "Whoa! Is that Heaven's Arena?" The building was huge.

"Do you think that, after we've made enough for a hotel, we can AirTrek on it?" Hopefully that wouldn't be against the rules.

"We can do that once we earn a room," Alluka said hopefully. "We've got to be good enough to at least get that far."

She was keeping her fingers crossed on that.

"Definitely!" Ringo looked breezily confident as she nodded at Alluka. "I mean, we're pretty experienced, right?"

Certainly against the average person from Earth they'd have no problems.

But this wasn't Earth.

Not that that reduced Ringo's confidence at all. She was sure that they'd be just fine.

"I've never been in a real fight before," Alluka said, a bit anxious now that they were so close to doing this. "I'm not bad at AirTrek, but..."

"Hmm. Maybe there'll be some space to warm up? I can show you a couple of quick pointers. Like, ways to use your AT skills in a match?"

She only sounded a little bit concerned. She had a lot of confidence in Alluka. Maybe more than she should, but she couldn't really help that.

"And maybe you'll go first," Alluka said, "and I'll be able to see how you do it. If nothing else, I get the same prize whether I win or lose on the first floor!"

"That'd work, too." Ringo grinned. "You've always been a fast learner."

"And even if it takes you a couple of rounds to get a hang of it, it sounds like losing isn't too big a deal when you're just figuring things out."
