Room 506, Monday afternoon

Ringo hadn't been to a club before. Prior to Fandom, she'd never really had the opportunity. She wasn't even sure if she was super-excited about it now that she did have the opportunity, but she did have to admit that she was curious.

And a bit competitive.

Which meant that her first time at a club had to be impressive. But it was hard to be impressive when you weren't entirely sure what constituted "impressive" at the intended venue. Which was why Ringo wasn't making a ton of progress in picking from the various dresses that she'd laid out on her bed. They were all new-ish, items she'd picked up on her trip into Baltimore with Kathy.

At least she'd decided that she was definitely wearing heels, and she only had the one pair of those, so that part of her wardrobe was figured out?

Now she just had to do the rest.

Good thing she had plenty of time.

There was a bunny peering around Ringo's door.

Alluka was holding the bunny but, shush, that wasn't the point. The bunny was doing the looking! Not her!

Despite the fact that, every few moments, she'd pull the bunny back to confer in (easily overheard) whispers about what Ringo was doing.

A huge grin was trying to fight its way onto Ringo's face, but she managed to keep it under control. "It's so hard deciding what dress to wear," she said, way too loudly to actually be talking to herself. "If only someone were here to help me decide." She wasn't sure if Alluka was the right person to get clubbing fashion advice from, but talking with the other girl about it would probably be fun even if she did something completely different.

From the abrupt cessation of whispered conversation, it was clear that Alluka had heard what Ringo had said.

After a moment, her bunny peered around the corner again and waved frantically.

It could help, right?

Ringo glanced over her shoulder, still fighting that grin. "Oh, hello, there!" she declared. "I don't suppose you know anyone who could help me pick out a dress, do you?"

The bunny stopped and looked at Ringo thoughtfully, before nodding. (Alluka's hands were clearly visible.)

Then the bunny disappeared around the doorway and the whispered conversation started up again.

"Oh, good. Because I sure could use some help," Ringo announced again. "I hope I don't have to wait too long."

Yeah, her grin was totally slipping free.

What was too long?

It certainly didn't take Alluka that long to get to a consensus with her bunny.

She stood up and bounced back a few steps to make it seem like she… hadn't been lurking right outside Ringo's door and then hopped right back.

"My bunny says you need my help!" she announced.

She was the sneakiest!

"Oh, Alluka!" Ringo didn't know you were nearby!

"Thank goodness you're here!" Ringo let her grin totally break free. "I need someone to help me pick out a dress!"

Her grin softened slightly. "And while it's not as urgent, getting a hug would be pretty excellent, too."

"I can give hugs!" she said, bouncing over with her arms outstretched to do just that. "Are you okay? What kind of party do you need a dress for?"

"You can give awesome hugs," Ringo agreed, squeezing Alluka close for a moment.

Then she let go and stepped back with a grin. Because of course she was dressing up for 'a party'. Which actually wasn't a bad way of looking at it.

"A dance party," she answered with a grin. "There'll be lots of people there, and most of them will be people I haven't met before." So she needed to make an impression!

"So you want to look super pretty," she said, nodding her agreement. Her bunny nodded along as well. This made total sense to Alluka.

She pondered the situation carefully. "Is it going to be like dancing with a prince?" she asked. "Like a ball?"

Fighting down a giggle, Ringo shook her head. "No, not that kind of dancing, I don't think. Just fun dancing, nothing fancy."

"Knock knock," Kathy said, tapping on Ringo's door. She held up her pair of ATs. "You busy? I wanted to see if you were up for a skate around the island."

Ooooh! Kathy, you always knew just how to ask the tough questions. "Um." Ringo was torn. She looked back and forth between the dresses she had laid out, and Kathy (and the ATs). Er.

"I, um, might have time? For something quick?" She probably didn't, no, but how could she say no?

"Okay, you didn't immediately scream yes, so clearly something's going on here," Kathy declared. Then she noticed the dresses Ringo had out. "Whoa! What's up here?"

There would be no ATs today, Ringo. Nope!

Ringo opened her mouth to answer, but caught herself just in time.

Her eyes narrowed as she studied Kathy thoughtfully for a moment. "You have to promise not to laugh," she demanded.

Kathy's eyebrows shot up to her hairline. "Reeeeeeally," she drawled, already grinning. "Isn't that interesting. Okay, I promise. No laughing."

"Or smirking!"

Hmm, now that she was thinking about it, Ringo probably needed to get Kathy promise not to do one of, like, a million things.

Kathy managed to wipe her smirk away, but her dimples weren't doing anywhere. "You might as well tell me," she said. "The longer you draw this out, the more of a reaction I'm going to have."

...Please note she hadn't actually made any promises about smirking, no.

Ringo heaved a huge sigh. Because Kathy was right, and it was too late to play it off.

"I'm going into Baltimore tonight to go to a club." All by herself, Kathy! With no one to show her around or anything!

"You're going to a club?" Kathy asked, blinking in surprise. "Why? With whom?"

Because ahahahaha, Ringo going to a club by herself was so ridiculous an idea, Kathy didn't even consider it. Hello? They'd met.

"Maybe I'm just going by myself? To have fun?"

Way to sound super convincing, Ringo!

This was Kathy's 'not buying it for a minute' face. "If you were going out to Baltimore for fun, you'd be bringing ATs," she said. Not buying it for a minute.

That, well that was true. Ringo couldn't even think of a way to argue against that.

She sighed. "Okay, okay. Someone's taking me."

She probably should have considered the fact that there weren't that many people she'd be so careful about avoiding mentioning. And the fact that Kathy was pretty clever.

"Sooooooo," Kathy said with a wide grin. "You're going to the club with Dante, hmm? Isn't that interesting."
