Room 406, Friday Afternoon

Ringo was actually surprised to find out just how much make-up she owned. When she'd first come to Fandom, her tiny collection of lip glosses plus her one eye shadow and blush (neither of which got much use) had fit in a single little bag. Now her collection spread out over most of her desk. Sure, most of it had gotten tried once and then stuffed into the back of drawers as not quite her color or too much work to get just right, but she still hadn't realized just how much of the stuff she'd picked up over the course of two years.

She shook her head and grinned as she grabbed a cookie from the box that occupied one of the spare corners of the desk. Apparently she should clean up more often. She'd found a couple of unopened boxes of Girl Scout cookies stashed with some of her unused make-up. Ringo wasn't sure how she'd lost track of cookies, but she couldn't really complain right that moment because, well, cookies!

And now it was going to be a race between Ringo's appetite and her expected guests arriving. She wondered how many cookies would be left!

Kathy had no plans to be anywhere but right here for the rest of the afternoon.

After that, well, things got hazy, but she was still going to try. "Yeah, I know you would have," Kathy said fondly, giving Ringo a kiss on the side of her temple. "But I'm your senpai. And that means that sometimes, I show up to make things special, just so you don't have to."

There was a small pause while Kathy gave Ringo a warm smile.

"...And also to show you how it's done."

Brat!

"Pffft." Ringo stuck out her tongue.

"We'll just see who shows who what!"

It was Kathy. Kathy was going to teach you how to do your make-up properly, Ringo. And you weren't fooling anyone.

"Well, I know how to do this thing in style, for one," Kathy said, gesturing to the chocolates and sparkling cider she'd already taken out to show Alluka. "And then I'm gonna show you how to do your hair and makeup, too."

And then she had a special gift for Ringo, the way she'd had the tiara for Alluka, but she was going to wait to give it to her. Because, again, brat.

"So let me pour us all something to drink and open up these chocolates while you show me what you're going to wear tonight."

"Yay chocolate and cider!" Ringo grinned, then her face fell slightly and she flushed a bit. "I, um, haven't exactly decided yet?" She looked over at her closet. "I, um, didn't buy a whole bunch of new dresses," unlike some people named Alluka, "but, I, uh, already have a ton."

She glanced over at Kathy. "Um... fashion show?"

Kathy flashed her Victory fingers. "Hell yeah, fashion show," she said, grabbing a few chocolates and a flute of cider and reclining on the bed like it was hers. "Let's see what you got!"

Ringo laughed at Kathy's posing, but still went over to her closet.

"So I know this one's not really a perfect fit," Ringo warned as she changed into a bight red dress. "But I just love the colors and the patterns and swirls and stuff." Even if it was very obviously cut for someone who was a little (or a lot) less curvy than Ringo was.

Kathy was a lot less tactful about it than Alluka had been. "Boobs, Ringo," she said. "You've got them."

Kathy was, in fact, more than a little jealous of how bountifully Ringo had been blessed in that department.

"And tonight you're gonna flaunt them. No high collars and ponytails for you. Senpai's orders."

"I know," Ringo said, managing to combine a laugh and a sigh in the same breath. "I just really keep wanting to be able to wear something like this and have it work."

"I mean, you'd probably look amazing in it! Especially with how long your legs are."

Everyone always wanted what they didn't have.

She shrugged, turning back to her closet. "But I'm pretty sure I've got at least a couple of dresses in here that will earn senpai's approval."

"You've got great legs, too," Kathy told her. "All that ATing. We just gotta find that perfect dress that highlights your assets without making you feel too self-conscious to pull it off."

In another minute or so, she'd probably be in Ringo's closet, too, looking for something to put her kohai in.

Ringo laughed. "If it helps, I've gotten a little bit better about being self-conscious?" Not that she was going to be comfortable in anything too extreme, but it was still progress.

She grabbed another dress from her closet and changed into it.

"What about something like this?" Ringo asked with a grin. "It's, like, off the shoulder and everything!"

How daring!

"Oooh, that's cute," Kathy declared, giving that dress an approving nod. "Put it in the 'maybe' pile. I'll have to see it on you, and I'm betting you have better ones, but that's at least a start."

Ringo wrinkled her nose and started a 'maybe' a pile on her bed.

"Fine. I've got just the thing."

She was totally going to show Kathy how daring she could be!

Pulling another red dress out of her closet, she pulled it on. "What do you think?" Ringo asked as she turned around, practically declaring look how daring I am! Though the effect was slightly spoiled by the fact that she was just wearing a regular bra.

But, still! Look at the neckline! Weren't you impressed, Kathy?

Kathy was impressed. She wasn't entirely sure she believed Ringo had bought that dress, as opposed to ending up with it as the result of some wacky hijinks, but impressed.

"Nice," she said. "...Do you have a bra to wear it with?"

Sad trombone noise.

Ringo blinked and looked down.

It was possible that she'd picked the dress up more out of a desire to be daring than a desire to, you know, where it. So this was actually the first time she'd put it on.

And now her bra was showing.

She flushed bright red.

"Um."

That was a no.

Kathy laughed, leaning over to give Ringo another hug. "Okay, we can work on foundation support another time," she said. "But before we find another dress, go put on the best bra you have. We need to know what we're working with. And don't forget to fluff!"

"Best?" Ringo frowned. "Um, best how?" Like, her nicest one?

Sorry, Kathy. Ringo hadn't had anyone to teacher her these important parts for the past year or so.

Ouch. Kathy was realizing that and she had no one to blame since she'd been around for over a year now.

"I want to see the one that gives you the best lift," she explained. "The best support from something that isn't a sports bra. Do you have a bra that gives you decent cleavage?"

Ringo didn't blame Kathy. In fact, she'd be upset with the idea that Kathy even thought of it in terms of blame.

"Oh!" Ringo thought about that.

"Um. Maybe?"

She dug through her drawers for a second. "I think it's this one?" she said, holding up black bra that Rika had made her buy during her last trip home to Tokyo.

Fortunately for Ringo, Rika did know what she was doing, and it was almost certainly exactly what Kathy was talking about.

Kathy generally thought of everything in terms of blame. At least when the option to blame herself was present.

But that was something to fret over when she wasn't helping people get ready for prom.

"Okay, that one looks promising," Kathy said. "Put it on, fluff, and let's see what necklines that opens up for us."

"Okay." Ringo nodded.

Then flushed slightly.

"But you have to turn around." She shot a look at Alluka to include her in that order.

Changing dresses in front her her senpai and her friend? No big deal. Changing bras? They were going to have to turn around.

"Okay, okay," Kathy said, dutifully turning around and paying studious attention to Ringo's closet.

After some fidgeting and adjustment, Ringo managed to get the bra on. Properly.

"Okay," she announced hesitantly. "Is this okay?"

Yeah, Rika was good at this sort of thing because this particular bra, combined with Ringo's ridiculous build and a bit of fluff work revealed that she had some truly impressive cleavage.

Kathy turned around and actually applauded. "Jealous," she announced. "I'm officially jealous."

Ringo had more boob in a single cup than Kathy did on her whole chest.

"Now we can start looking for a proper dress for you," Kathy declared. The bra Ringo was wearing wasn't plunge enough for the dress they'd discarded, but something with a slightly higher neckline would work. "Hmmm," Kathy said, looking for the dress she'd been admiring before Ringo had told them to turn around, "try...this one."

"Really?" Ringo flushed, but her smile was pleased. She didn't get a lot of compliments, and hearing one from Kathy made her feel fuzzy-happy.

"Okay," she reached out for the dress, then frowned. "Where'd this come from?" It was a pretty nice dress, but she didn't remember seeing it before.

"Your closet?" Kathy said, pointing to the small space on the rack where it had been. "It was smushed between two other ones and looks like it's been there awhile." She frowned at it. "If you end up wearing it, we'll probably need to iron it."
